Abu Dhabi [UAE], August 9 (ANI/WAM): Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities (MBZUH) and the Global Peace Foundation Indonesia have agreed to explore the prospects for strategic cooperation in areas of common interest as the university welcomed a delegation from the foundation during its recent visit.
The planned joint undertaking aligns with the university’s aim to enhance its partnerships with prestigious regional and international organisations, who are also keen to develop research and scientific capabilities across different fields of study.
The delegation from the Global Peace Foundation Indonesia was headed by its president, Dr. Shafruddin Campo, and was received by Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of the MBZUH, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Following the welcome ceremonies, the delegation was then briefed on the university’s academic and scientific programs as well as its initiatives to bridge cultures and enhance human knowledge based on Islamic principles.
In addition, the university highlighted its initiatives related to promoting peace and coexistence, in addition to strengthening ties between the different countries of the world by fostering human fraternity and better cultural understanding.
The visit fruitfully concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding covering a broad range of activities for cooperation, partnership, and the exchange of expertise and experiences in various areas of common interest.
The terms of the memorandum included the possibility of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities providing scholarships to students nominated by the foundation, in addition to facilitating familiarization trips as well as establishing cultural and scientific activities and joint community service projects.
Moreover, the two sides agreed to undertake joint studies and research, as well as publishing scholarly articles, exchanging books and relevant publications in various languages. Both institutions also agreed to explore other mutually beneficial initiatives in the future.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Al Dhaheri stressed that the partnership will go a long way in supporting the university’s vision of promoting peace, tolerance and coexistence. He added, “From the onset, Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities have advocated for these principles through its academic programs, scientific conferences and partnerships with like-minded institutions from all over the world. Through this, we can translate our united vision into meaningful initiatives that support our common principles and values.”
Al Dhaheri further said, “This memorandum will further open pathways for cooperation and exchange of scientific, intellectual, and cultural experiences between the two sides, and the development of joint programs that serve issues of common interest.”
He stressed that the memorandum is only the beginning and is optimistic that it will lead to joint initiatives in the future. (ANI/WAM)
