Moscow [Russia], April 23 (ANI): Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday extended condolences to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Putin said, “Esteemed Mrs President, Esteemed Mr Prime Minister, Kindly accept the sincere condolences over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, whose victims were civilians — citizens of various countries.”
“This brutal crime has no justification whatsoever. We expect that its organisers and perpetrators will face deserved punishment. I would like to reiterate our commitment to further increasing cooperation with Indian partners in fighting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Please convey words of sincere sympathy and support to the near and dear ones of the deceased, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery of all injured,” he added.

Further, Denis Alipov, Russian Ambassador to India, extended deepest condolences to the people and government of India, stating that “Russia resolutely stands with India.”
Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, said, “deepest condolences to the people and the Government of India over the heinous terror attack against tourists in Pahalgam. Russia resolutely stands with India.”
Ambassador of France to India, Thierry Mathou also condemned the dastardly attack in Jammu and Kashmir. “Strong condemnation of the dastardly attack in Jammu & Kashmir. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. France stands in solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism. #Pahalgam,” he posted on X.

The attack, which targeted tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, took place earlier on Tuesday. However, the state government has not issued any official statement on casualties.
Anti-terror operations have been launched in response to the attack on tourists in Pahalgam, and assured that the perpetrators would pay a heavy price for their actions.
Following the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the phone and directed him to take all necessary measures in response to the incident.
PM Modi has also asked the Home Minister to visit the site of the attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district to assess the situation personally.
PM Modi “strongly” condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam and paid condolences to those who have lost their loved ones.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected,” PM Modi said.
“Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice…they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable, and it will get even stronger,” he added.
Political leaders across parties have strongly condemned the firing incident reported in the Pahalgam area of south Kashmir, calling it an attack on peace and the region’s tourism sector. (ANI)
