New Delhi [India], April 24 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari on Thursday condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, stating that while peaceful elections were successfully conducted in Jammu and Kashmir, the attack shows that “some people cannot tolerate the region’s growing stability and happiness.”
Tiwari, who visited Pahalgam on April 15, shared his observations about the peaceful life of locals before the attack.
“Peaceful elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir, which hurt all those who wanted to see Jammu and Kashmir in turmoil… I was in the Pahalgam area on April 15. The local people there were living peacefully, but suddenly, such an attack clearly indicates that some people cannot tolerate the happiness of Jammu and Kashmir…”, Manoj Tiwari said.
In response to the attack in Pahalgam, the Indian government has decided to suspend visa services for Pakistani nationals with immediate effect.
Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement, “In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect.”
“All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from 27 April 2025. Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till 29 April 2025,” the statement added.
The Central government has called for an all-party meeting to discuss the Pahalgam attack. The meeting will be held at 6 pm on Thursday at the Parliament. According to sources, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the meeting.
Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde will represent the party at the meeting. A statement from the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena expressed “unwavering” support in the aftermath of the attack that claimed 26 lives.
Several opposition parties, including Congress, Samajwadi Party, AIMIM, and others, are also expected to participate in the meeting. (ANI)
